Firstly, (although this is a lil late) CONGRATS to Farhan and all official Scythians for being chosen as HGL and GLs respectively! :)
Now Fazly and I won't be the ones you all will be looking to most of the time alr. Farhan as HGL, has been expected to attend all FO Meetings, seeing to the administrative and organisational work of our empire. Being the link between you guys and the main comm, i sincerely hope everyone will give him 100% support and more. Have already set certain expectations for him as the HGL and of course, Fazly and I expect a certain level from you guys as well.
During OTC, Fazly and I fell sick and were unable to perform at our best, do pardon us. But from that time, we already saw an independence in you guys that we felt rather proud of. Seeing you all change and strive to improve as the days past, made us feel that we really had nothing to worry about! Though we may not have conquered OTC, it's not of huge significance to us. For we have gained much more in other aspects, such as closer bonds, a marked improvement in attitudes, a fun experience, and much much more.
We have a lot of confidence in every single one of you, each with your own talents and smarts. With all that in abundance, we believe you people will march forth and create a damn
kickass FO!!
Although Farhan has been chosen to take onthe role of HGL, please do not begin to develop the mindset that he is more impt than any one of you. Each and every one of you played and will continue to play extremely important roles as GLs. You are the direct link to the freshies and through you all freshies get to see a different side of poly, as they have nv before. WOW them with all your creativity and hype, IMPART your street-smarts, TEACH them how to make the best out of life in Poly, INTRODUCE to them what poly life can be/is like for them & you guys; INSPIRE them to want to be like you all , just like how most of you were inspired as a freshie. You all have what it takes to bring Scythia to the tops for FO, but let that not be the only and & main concern for this coming FO.
Past few outings, even for ALP and ytd's last outing, don't remember hearing anyone receive a full turn-out. I know tmr won't be too, but i really hope all of you will be committed enough to remember your responsibilities as a GL, as a TEAM.
Oh yes, speaking of which, as independent as you all may be. I wish to highlight certain things that I see are lacking sometimes.
Firstly,
Discipline. The most basic forms of self-discipline are
Punctuality & Respect. I don't mind if during outings, or with friends you are late, cause I myself have that bad habit too. haha. BUT! when it comes to business, please remember your role as a GL - to set an example for the freshies too, and be Punctual, if not Early. This applies to everyone of us, even Fazly, Farhan and I. I don't just refer to being punctual for games or any programme, I also emphasize this for the handing up of any forms or whatnot as well. As a team, constantly remind each other if you know you have forgetful mates. Next, Respect. Accord to everyone the amount of respect that you wish to be given, and also the amount that they deserve. No matter if it's Fazly, me, Farhan, any of your sub-empire heads, any fellow GLs, any freshies, Sub-Comms, Sub-Comm heads and Main Comms. Please cooperate and support both farhan and your sub-empire heads loads, for in the end they answer to us. Any problems that any one of you may have with another, please have everything solved amicably BEFORE FO. I want every relationship to start on a clean slate. Memories intact, but leave the misgivings out.
Secondly,
Responsibility. Everyone of you all has a big responsibility to shoulder. The safety and enjoyment of the freshies and more. However, do not only apply this to your freshies. For example, I wish never to hear any last minute news (i.e. I have work/gathering with friends, and so i can't make it for this/that later.). None of this please. Honestly, these kinds of things are the most irresponsible stuffs. Anything to do with attendance or whatever, please ensure that you inform someone well in advance! (and if you tell a friend, please make sure your friend is responsible enough to let any one who is in-charge know). I believe I dont have to further emphasize on what other responsibilities you all require.
These are the main things to note. Tmr is packing day. Take this chance to bond since you've missed doing so during ALP. Oh ya. One thing, If at anyime, Fazly and I find anyone not performing or stepping out of line with freshies or other GLs or anyone, Know that we will not hesitate to ask you to leave immediately. Sub-empires have been divided. I hope everyone knows which group they are in. Sub-empire heads, please do take note of all in your charge.
Last but not least, remember - No matter how we are divided in sub-empires, we will stand tall and unite as ONE SCYTHIA. No matter how we are divided in empires, we all will stand together as ONE UNIT. :)
People, FO comes in 3 days or so. I'm excited, I hope you all are too. Give your best (do spread ard the 6 days), and lets show everyone who we really are! Scythia, let's make this FO an unforgettable memory for all of us and our freshies. I know you all will not disappoint Fazly or I. Work hard, Play hard :D
